ALL
RELEVANT ORGANISATIONS CAN PARTICIPATE FREE WITH THIS IMPORTANT
NETWORK SERVICE.
BUT FIRST, PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING PAGES
CAREFULLY.
LAFAN
is currently operating for UK and Ireland animal rescue only. (International
sites will be established in due course).
LaFAN is free
to join.
THE
IMPORTANCE OF LaFAN
LaFAN
has been created by the non-profit web retreat VeggieGlobal and
Looking-Glass as a free service which provides a simple, transparent
and highly necessary portal to your organisation's "lost, found
and seen" (and stolen) animals pages. If your organisation's website
does not yet have its own lost and found page then we strongly recommend
you rectify this omission as soon as possible! We also urge any
other lost and found animal registers to join / link in with this
network. The application procedure is explained at the end of the
following information. Please note that LaFAN is hand-administered
throughout to help maintain the quality of
information.
To avoid complication throughout the application process please
read all the following pages:
INCLUDED
IN THE LaFAN DIRECTORY
The lost and found page details of animal rescue charities and non-profit
animal rescue groups.
Note: Independent lost and found animal register type web sites
can also be listed - (see requirements at the end of these application
pages)
NOT
INCLUDED IN THE LaFAN DIRECTORY
Animal breeders, sellers, blood sports, pigeon racing. Any organisation
or service linked to animal based sport known to cause animal suffering.
NOTE: We do not knowingly list groups affiliated with activists
who conduct violent or threatening acts against individuals.
YOUR INTRODUCTION
TO LOST ANIMAL PHOTO-TRACKING
Apart from this service uniting the lost and found web pages of
rescue organisations, LaFAN provides additional support towards
animal reunification by advising the public to use their mobile
phones to take pictures of animals that clearly appear to be lost
but can't be secured, and send the photo to YOU, their local rescue
organisations, to display on the "seen" section of your
lost and found pages. Therefore, we expect a rise in public participation
and your LaFAN linked lost and found pages should be prepared accordingly
to include a "Seen" section. See Lost
Animal Photo-Tracking (opens
separate window).
Now
continue with the application by
