We
convey this message to those who may become or have become redundant
due to the banning of blood sports using dogs; without malice
and laying aside your possible contempt for the majorities who
may have led to the demise of your current employment.
Please take a moment to read the
following:
You have been in a privileged employment,
linked to a cultural heritage which has not been questioned for
hundreds of years. The world around you has changed, and modern
society in general has not had the fortune to feel as secure about
their vocation as you have. (And most of us not even responsible
for killing animals in our employment.) The practices of animal
bloodsports are entrirely unsuitable for the environmental and
compasionate climate we live in as focus turns towards reviewing
the damage made by humans to many aspects and environments of
our world in crisis.
You have to except change like we
all have to.
There is a whole new philosophy
of animal and environmental management in the country waiting
in the wings, of which you could have the opportunity to benefit
from. Take time to investigate these options.
Instead of working against an animal,
take this opportunity to explore your conscience and consider
it a chance to work for the animals ... for the
environment. Reeducate yourself from within and embrace the possibility
of a new, soul-enriching and compassionate outlook on life.
Your cases, more than most city
dwellers, gives you a wonderful opportunity to turn your country-oriented
skills towards replenishment and forward-thinking ideas to healp
heal the planet. At the same time you will be appreciated for
your gesture by many. It's not a loss for you but a gain of personal
conscience - of compassion.
We know of one individual who actually
started his career with animals as a gamekeeper! Then, instead
of working against them he turned completely the opposite and
is now one of the most compassionate animal welfare experts in
the UK. His heroic deeds have led him to saving animals in the
most dangerous and bizarre circumstances.
So please take this opportunity.
Not to scorn the "towny trendies" who you say don't
understand "country life", but to prove to them that
you have an even deeper attachment of the country and its wildlife
... more than they can comprehend.
As a "Countryside Alliance" you will now hopefully take
time to act out the true meaning that your name suggests.
Find "alliance" with the nature of your rural surroundings
... compassionately.
