About Cruelty Free,
Vegan Cosmetics
Cruelty Free products is a term that speaks for itself. It's a sad fact
that many cosmetic companies still test on animals. We therefore advise
you to be careful when buying cosmetics. VeggieGlobal has specifically
enquired and researched the companies advertised on these pages to ensure
that their cosmetic products have not been tested on animals and are suitable
for vegans.
Remember, if you are not 100% sure, it's always a good idea to personally
enquire directly to a cosmetic manufacturer asking if their cosmetics
/ beauty services are suitable for vegetarians / vegans. I.e. are their
products tested on animals and do their products contain any animal by-products?
Be insistent when you contact them, because your questioning with enough
pressure will help to stop this highly unethical and unnecessary practice.
Remember, products tested on animals can include moisturizing creme, soaps,
shampoo, toothpaste, hair colours, lipstick and perfume.
To help put a stop to the terrible agony and death that thousands of animals
suffer each year for the sake of vanity, please only buy beauty products
which haven't been tested on animals. Cruelty free is the only ethical
choice ... so make it yours!
If you would also like to find more really useful information about cruelty
free cosmetics (including lists of cosmetic companies that don't test
on animals) and how stay beautiful without harming animals, the book "Beauty
without the Beasts" by Heather Chase is highly recommended.
